Digital data is the new oil in the industrial world, and your devices push and publish data by the barrel. But many companies struggle to get data into the hands of those who need it because of difficult-to-use software, old architectures, or restrictive licensing models. Since 2003, Inductive Automation has helped companies and enterprises transform their processes and operations with our flagship product, Ignition. Ignition’s Digital Transformation platform provides an IIoT solution that utilizes publish-and-subscribe methodology to decouple devices from applications, allowing valuable information to flow within your infrastructure when and where it’s needed.
Add as many tags, clients, devices, and database connections as you need at no extra charge.
Configure, manage, and launch clients instantly from anywhere on any device that has a web browser.
Run it on any operating system, use it on any device or interface, and leverage it across any IT standard.
Create a Single Source of Truth to seamlessly collect and spread data across an entire enterprise in real time.
Use the free, low-code Designer to build custom modules for your unique functions.
Contact tech support that's actually useful, and attend virtual training with expert instructors and online tutorials.

Brown Engineers
Brown Engineers used Ignition to replace five SCADA systems with one for a utility department.
Ignition uses native drivers and leverages open standards to support connections with any device, service, or database to create a streamlined data pipeline for IIoT solutions. And with a full suite of powerful modules to choose from — offering features like mobile-responsive dashboards, alarm notifications, enterprise administration, and more — Ignition equips you to build the exact solution you need and deploy it to any screen. Ignition ties data and people together, and facilitates total enterprise integration.
Ignition's real-time monitoring gives you the power to quickly see your facility's status on any device. Gone are the days of tracking your data with clipboards, whiteboards, and spreadsheets as Ignition enables you to build customizable digital dashboards that show your processes' actual, real-time tag values.
Ignition uses Sparkplug to lay the foundation for data management. It creates data definition standards, and develops a workflow structure for databases. It also establishes a single source of truth (SSOT), so properties edited at a source are updated across all synced connections. Edit once, update “auto-magically.”
With Ignition's IIoT capabilities, users can decouple devices from their one-to-one links with applications and push data directly to a central hub. From there, data can flow freely and be instantly published and subscribed to by any industrial or business application.
Ignition SCADA and Cirrus Link Solutions’ MQTT Modules are a perfect pair for easily establishing a unified namespace architecture for your real-time data. As a single source of truth for data consistency and accessibility across all your systems and applications in Ignition, UNS standardizes how data is named and shared. The result is improved data management, administration, security, and visibility for your operations.

Ignition is a firm-yet-flexible foundation. A server-centric solution, it bridges the OT-IT gap and connects field devices, clients, and applications on any desktop, mobile, or touch-screen device. It’s also a scalable solution that can be a single onsite server, an enterprise with multiple remote servers, or a hybrid. You can even build your own IIoT solution using Ignition and the MQTT Modules from Cirrus Link Solutions.

What are Ignition modules and how do they work?
Ignition is a unified platform for connecting data, and designing and deploying industrial applications throughout an enterprise. The development power of Ignition is extensible through the addition of fully integrated software modules. Each module adds new functions to the Ignition platform, which enables users to create applications for SCADA, MES, IIoT, alarming, reporting, and more. Visit our Modules page to learn more.
How does Ignition’s free trial work?
You can download the full version of Ignition for free on our download page. Ignition only takes three minutes to install and it comes with all the core modules. By default, Ignition will run in trial mode which will timeout after two hours but you can manually reset it as many times as you wish, which allows you to build and test a full project in Ignition without buying a license. Once you’re ready, you can purchase and install your Ignition license key, which will take Ignition out of trial mode by removing the two-hour timeout. All your previous work will be saved with no additional installation required.
What do you mean by “unlimited licensing”?
Ignition is sold by the server, so the affordable cost of one license gives you an unlimited number of clients, tags, and connections — the only limiting factor for Ignition is the performance of the hardware you install it on. Visit our Unlimited Licensing page to learn more.
Do you support Linux or OSX?
Yes, Ignition supports both.
Which SQL databases does Ignition support?
Ignition supports all of the major SQL databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and IBM DB2.
What kind of devices can Ignition run on?
Ignition is cross-platform compatible so it can run on Windows 10 and 11, and Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022, as well as Linux and macOS. Ignition can run on any device including PCs, laptops, servers, tablets, smartphones, remote field devices, and even Raspberry Pi’s.
Is Ignition compatible with other SCADA packages?
Yes, Ignition is based on open, non-proprietary, IT-standard technologies. Ignition is fully interoperable and compatible with other SCADA packages along with other industrial and enterprise systems. Ignition was designed to work great alongside other systems or on its own so it’s easy to fit into your existing solutions.
Who uses Ignition?
Ignition software is used by thousands of integrators and industrial organizations in more than 100 countries. It’s used by some of the biggest companies in the world in industries like oil and gas, water/wastewater, manufacturing, automotive, food processing and more. Visit our Customers page to see some of the companies that trust Ignition every day.
